Pets Looking
For a New Start
There's nothing like the feeling giving a new life
to a pet who's been abused or abandoned. They
know you saved their life, and they give back so
much to show their appreciation. If you're
looking for a pet, please look at our available
pets at the Douglas County Humane Society.
Clicking on the link on the left takes you to
SEGA's Current Adoptables page, where you can
see the beautiful hounds we always have in
abundance. The adoption kennel in Acworth is
usually full, and when it's not, we bring more up
from Florida. The more we can adopt out, the
more we can save. Please help us make room for
another haul
by adopting the fastest, one of the most unique, sweetest, kind hearted
friends you can imagine.
Dee Hansen has put her heart and soul into saving
Greyhounds and finding the very best homes for
them since the earliest days of Greyhound rescue.
Dee introduced Tina and I to our first Greyhound
in January of 1993 and has since adopted four
more to us. With a kind heart, she brings out the
best in each dog, and you'll understand that once
you bring one home, to begin what will be the best
days of your life.
Second Chance Greyhounds is the newest adoption group in the
Atlanta area, and one we're very proud to be members of. This is a
greyhound and prison inmate partnership program. Our dogs go from
the track into a training program with state inmates as part of their
rehabilitation. It's dogs helping inmates helping dogs. It works so well
and we're so happy with the results, we just can't wait to adopt you a
perfect, Second Chance hound!
Folks, I am VERY happy to announce that Domino and Holly have been
adopted! Domino is now in dream land, living on a several hundred acre
farm in Dalton, GA, with pastures to run in, lakes to swim in, and best of all,
another pointer for her to grow old with. It couldn't have gone better for
Domino. She was with us for over two years, but she was loved and was
kept warm and safe here.
Holly, being one of the sweetest dogs we've ever had the joy of being
involved in the adoption of - very typical of the border collie breed - is now
living with an extra nice couple living here in the Douglasville area on her
own, large tract of land.
Now, Missy and Sugar (above) are still looking for their perfect home. So if
you would like to come see them, please let us know!
